ABOUT

Nathan Biron

To me, lighting is a necessary tool that helps build a world for the audience to immerse themselves in. Whether through color, texture, temperature, or angle of light, I am constantly exploring ways to ensure my designs not only supports the work on stage, but enhances it.

Collaboration is at the core of my process. I believe no theatrical work can be created from a sole effort, but rather from a collective vision that thrives on creativity and collaboration. Theatre allows us to reflect on who we are and imagine who we might become, and I believe that an audience’s connection to a show comes from a willingness to take creative risks. Lighting helps the audience step into this world, whether to heal, learn, grow, or simply observe.

I am a New Hampshire-born, Chicago-based undergraduate lighting designer, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design and Technology from Columbia College Chicago. My lighting experience spans across design, programming, and electrics, with my work featured in a range of productions including musicals, plays, live music performances, and dance showcases.
